Manchester Mountaineering Captain

Role Purpose -

There are several addition roles within the committee that add value and depth to the club. It is the duties/ responsibility of the students with these roles to add the added value to the club. They will take responsibility in their given title, from Media officer to Health Liaison Officer.

Key Tasks -

•Support the club with their committee role specialism
•Ensure the aims of the club are being met and liaise with the chair regularly to make sure this is happening.
•Act as the ambassadoror spokesperson for the organisation in their role
•Undertake a specific remit as defined by the chair /committee

Qualities Needed -

•Confident and Effective communicator
•Great organisation skills
•Ability to delegate duties
•An understanding of the development plan, constitution and policies
•Unbiased and impartial
•Great organisation/IT skills

Support Available -

We will support the addition committee roles by allowing them access to all resources and experience of the Student Activities team, you will also have the support of your elected committee. Training is available at the beginning of term 1 and they will have the chance to develop themselves and the club/society through further training and development plans.
As well as providing your club with their own webpages to promote your activities the website provides other useful resources of interest to the vice-chair such as – The Student Activities Handbook, STARS handbook, H&S Policy, Code of practice, How to manage discipline, Development plan template and much more. Over the course of the year, there will be specific additional training.

Skills you'll gain -

•You will have the opportunity to develop your communication, leadership, organizational, team working and project management skills. However, it must be noted that students will only get out, what they put into the process.
